cent this patient returned to his native district, much delighted; with the result that since this time patients have come regularly from this district to this hospital for a similar operation. The technique of the operation, as performed in this hospital, is briefly as follows:? (a) The patient is prepared in the usual way by a preliminary bath and purgation. The whole genital area is thoroughly shaved; scrubbed with spirits of soap and water; swabbed with turpentine, followed by rectified spirits, then spirits of iodine, and finally covered with a sterile dressing the night previous to operation.
